Pilot site JÜCHEN

Pilot site description

As a Centre for Garden Art and Landscape Design, the Schloss Dyck Foundation (Stiftung Schloss Dyck) decided to use on 2 sites the biomats of DS:

1/ site 1 (2.000 m²): a strip of land of 1km long that boarders the ‘New Gardens’ along the highly used Dyckstrasse in Jüchen and opposite the parking of the Dyck castle. The weed control biomats are installed in order to facilitate the maintenance of a difficult to keep new installed rose fence.

2/ site 2 (2.000 m²): different steep slopes around a playground and close to the parking place of Schloss Dyck . The biomats used, will help to control the growth of weeds and to eliminate the impact of erosion.

The Schloss Dyck Foundation is a leading partner of the ‘Centre for Garden Art and Landscape Culture’, which is internationally renowned for the formation of the European Garden Heritage Network (www.eghn.eu). (200 sites in 5 European countries)
