Herbicides are often used in the conventional rose cultivation in the Netherlands. A lot of these products have harmful effects for the environment; therefore there is an increased demand for sustainable alternatives. The functionality, sustainability and efficiency of different not chemical weed suppressive treatments has been examined in the research “Alternative weed suppression techniques” of de HAS Hogeschool Venlo.
