Pilot site description

In the south of Sweden some 487 m² of different kind of Ecogrow mats have been delivered and installed.

A special strong Ecogrow mat was developed in order to obtain less elongation while manipulating the mat. Better mechanical characteristics were requested as a specific way of installation and harvesting of the rolls results in higher than average risk on elongation or delamination of the rolls (loss of substrate).

At a first stage the mats will grow up in a special nursery (2014). In 2015 the mats will be installed on public green roofs in Finland.
