Pilot site description

For extra light green roofs some specific fertility mats are required.

As this application is quite new, 7 different types of biomats (1.175 m²) have been produced in order to be installed on a bigger green roof in Helsinki.

These Ecogreen mats will be installed in summer 2014 and after this mosses will be planted on all the different type of mats. This installation allows to set up of a comparative study. The first evaluation will be done from spring 2015 on.

This study will be done in cooperation with the university of Helsinki and is at the same time an ideal demonstration act for the decision makers of Finnish cities and communities.
